1st Netlabel day // 14th July 2015 |
The International Netlabel Day will be organised for the first time this year, following the example of the Record Store Day, which was created back in 2007 to celebrate the record stores in the USA and the rest of the world. Independent artists and netlabels from different genres will install a new tradition and will be releasing together digital music every 14th of July, from now on!
This initiative was born in Chile thanks to Manuel Silva, from M.I.S.T. Records, and it reunites more than 50 netlabels from all over the world under one common purpose: to support the Creative Commons music and to celebrate and showcase music that is generally only digitally distributed and shared via netlabels. All genres are present: Rock, electronic, noise, ambient and many many more, free and just for you. Dubophonic will be participating in this initiative supporting the dub genre and will be represented by Koncrete Roots with one unreleased track.
The event is supported by the Cerebral Rift and all music will be uploaded on Archive.org and Free Music Archive and will be available for free on WAV and FLAC via direct download or torrent. All this and much more activities (podcasts, live radio shows, local events, etc) will be announced soon on the Netlabel Day homepage. We hope that this initiative will grow over the years and establish itself in the vast world of digital music.
